Tier miles are only earned when you fly Emirates and help you progress to Skywards Silver and Skywards Gold membership levels.
They are earned at the same rate as you earn Skywards Miles, and depend on the route you fly, the type of fare you purchase and the cabin you travel in. This means you will earn more tier miles when you purchase a Skywards Flex fare compared to a Skywards Saver fare, and also when you travel in our premium cabins.
With our rolling tier qualification you will benefit from having up to 13 months to earn a higher tier, counted across any consecutive calendar period. Just visit your online statement to track your tier progress. For example, we will count your tier miles earned from 1 January 2009 - 31 January 2010; 1 February 2009 - 28 February 2010; 1 March 2009 - 31 March 2010; etc.
Once you achieve a new tier, your status is valid for the next 12 months and a review date will be set for the end of the same month the following year. For example, if you earn Skywards Silver status on 14 March 2010, you will remain in this tier for the next 12 months and your review date will be 31 March 2011.
As before, you will need 25,000 tier miles to earn or retain Silver status, and 50,000 miles for Gold.
